The Pietermaritzburg distributor of Xerox office equipment,
XTEC, stole a march on its competitors in the city by concluding
the first BEE deal in the office systems andautomation market.
The deal sees a 50% stake in XTEC being sold to Oak Park Trading,
whichis represented by sisters Thoba and Zandile Poyo.In terms
of the deal, Thoba is taking up a directorship along with MD Anthony
Anley of XTEC.
The Poyo sisters hail from Eastern Cape and moved to
Kwazulu-
the hospitality industry. Thoba, the older sibling, is a partner
in the Pietermaritzburg legal firm Ngcobo, Poyo and Diedricks,
while Zandile has completed her in-
Sechaba in Durban and currently working as a Sales Executive
at Xtec.
The BEE deal follows XTEC being named the national dealership
of the year for the second year running in April. XTEC plans to
expand its operations in Pietermaritzburg and in northern KZN.
Anley said plans to open a Ladysmith office are well advanced to
improve XTEC’S penetration in the region. “The Ladysmith office
will greatly improve our reach and will complement the operations
in Pietermaritzburg and Newcastle,” he said. -
